RULES & REGULATIONS FOR PARA MEDICAL COURSES:

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION & DURATION OF COURSES:
    Minimum Qualification is SSLC For all Para Medical Courses. Duration: 3 Years (Plus 3 Months Internship).
    Those with PUC (Science) qualification: Lateral Entry to 2nd Year. Duration: 2 Years (Plus 3 Months Internship).
    DMRT Course: Those with PUC (Any Stream): Lateral Entry to 2nd Year DMRT only. Duration: 2 Years (Plus 3 Months Internship).
  • EXAMINATION:
    The examinations to the candidates of Para Medical courses shall be conducted by the Para Medical Board, which is under The Karnataka State Nursing & Para Medical Education Regulation Authority, Bangalore. The Board examinations shall be conducted in accordance with the scheme of examination drawn for each subject.
    There shall be two examinations in a year, i.e., Annual and Supplementary Examinations, and shall be conducted by the Para Medical Board. Regular Internal assessment will be conducted by the concerned College/ Institutions. The Board examinations shall consist of written, practical, and viva examinations as specified in the scheme of examination prescribed for each course.
    The internal assessment will be conducted by the concerned colleges at least twice a year, and the marks list containing the average of these two internal assessments will be submitted to the Board well before the commencement of the Board Theory Examination by the Principal of the concerned College/Institutions.
  • ELIGIBILITY FOR TAKING EXAMINATION:
    Carry over system is introduced from the year 2017-18 (Revised Scheme -RS - 2). The candidate will have 100% carry over in their 1st and 2nd year of study. But the candidate should clear all the balance subjects before six months of Final Year exam to appear for the same.
    50% of IA marks and 75% attendance are the eligibility criteria for taking exams. IA marks have to be submitted twice in the academic year, in the month of February and in the month of June. The best one will be considered for examination.
    The candidate registered for the examination shall appear for the examinations only at the Centre assigned for that Institution in which the candidate has fulfilled his/her course requirement.
  • APPLYING FOR EXAMINATION:
    Application of candidates who have paid the examination and registration fee and whose application forms duly certified by the Head of the concerned Institution in respect of attendance, etc., shall be considered by the Board for examination.
  • DATE OF EXAMINATION:
    The dates for both theory and practical examinations for annual/ supplementary examinations shall be announced by the Special Officer of the Board after consulting the Chairman. He will intimate the Examination time table to the Heads of the Institutions regarding the date of examinations at least one month prior to the commencement of the examination. Under unavoidable circumstances, the Board reserves the right to alter the dates of any Examinations on prior intimation.
  • EXAMINATION CENTRE:
    Examinations shall be held only at such Centres as the Board may decide from time to time, which shall be announced before the last date for Examination.
  • MALPRACTICE AND MPC COMMITTEE:
    Any kind of malpractice in the examination will be severely dealt with a punishment, which ranges from debarring the candidate from writing the examination or as decided by the Malpractice Committee formed by the Board.
  • PUBLICATION OF RESULTS:
    Results of various Para Medical Courses approved by the Board shall be published at the Office of the Special Officer of the Board, website of the board, and also at Para Medical Institutions for the information of the students.
